Combined, Ezra, Stella, and Philip have 15 years of experience leading communities in Uganda. In this month’s podcast episode, these remarkable CarePoint Project Coordinators share what their daily work is like at the CarePoint; the encouragement that keeps them going when they face opposition and difficulties; and how they are seeing their communities change before their eyes.
Our family loves partnering with HopeChest because the model goes beyond sponsorship. With Children’s HopeChest, sponsorship is the foundation to not just helping an individual child, but providing hope for a whole community.
What I’m realizing is this: no way is right; no culture is ideal. We’re all broken, we all just have a little harder time seeing our own brokenness.

I may be a little biased towards Children’s HopeChest in Uganda, but these people get the message and purpose of Children’s HopeChest. They’re not simply maintaining the HopeChest model, they’re going above and beyond to develop and create new sustainable programs that will make an impact in these communities for a lifetime.
Hope is why we, as God’s people, serve. It’s why we, at Children’s HopeChest, go. Not to meet physical needs and leave, never to return again. We go to build relationship.
Point Community Church and the people of Kaberamadio, Uganda have become a family. A family brought together because of His love, sharing in His provision and finding belonging, beauty, and hope in His promise.
I’ve sponsored the same child through Children’s HopeChest for almost seven years. He’ll be a grown man in a few more. Literally, I have watched him grow up through pictures from the other side of the world.
Silver had always been interested in electronics. He began by building his own radio. Then, he built his own cell phone watch.
