We asked children from each country we partner with what they miss most about their HopeChest Friends. Earlier this year, Children’s HopeChest expanded the Friendship Model, which empowers children to choose their own sponsor. Today we are hearing from Carolina Cardona, HopeChest Guatemala’s Country Director, about the excitement she feels toward seeing children’s faces light up with joy when they get to choose their own HopeChest Friend.

Praying for and writing to your sponsor child can easily be overlooked. Even after several trips to visit my child, between cultural and language barriers,
